Who this is for

This page is for owners with a car they intend to show on the grass in Scottsdale, and for Ferrari owners in the marque's featured 80th-anniversary year. It is also for anyone deciding whether an original, unrestored finish needs work at all. Because the field is professionally judged, clear-coat condition is read up close.

  • The organizer describes the 9th edition as professionally judged and curated, with more than 100 collector vehicles competing for class awards and top honors split between pre-WWII and post-WWII cars.
  • Ferrari's 80th anniversary makes it the featured marque for 2027, and the organizer expects a significant number of Ferraris to be present.
  • Scottsdale Arts lists a Sunday-morning Dawn Patrol in which cars drive from a holding area to spots on the Civic Center lawn, so a car is presented outdoors on grass, not in a hall.
  • The organizer's entrant rules exclude cars consigned to any Scottsdale auction and cars shown at the Concours in the past three years, and entrants choose Exhibit Only or To Be Judged.
Timing

Preparing for Arizona Concours d'Elegance

  1. October 2026

    Book a paint inspection. AB uses LED lighting and paint-thickness readings to say what the clear coat can safely take, or whether the paint should be left as it is.

  2. By November 30, 2026

    Vehicle entries close on the organizer's application, and final acceptances are notified December 10, 2026. Book correction for a car you have entered so the work can start as soon as acceptance arrives.

  3. November to early December 2026

    Schedule any 2-Step or Show Correction and ceramic coating at the studio. These are multi-day jobs and the calendar is limited to one car at a time.

  4. Early January 2027

    Final Complete Detail in early January, covering the engine bay and accessible wheel wells, so the car goes to the show finished.

  5. The week of January 18, 2027

    Collect the car with time to spare. Transport, trailer and entrant paperwork are yours to arrange with the organizer.

We coordinate studio drop-off and pickup with you and share the address before arrival. Please arrange a ride, as there is no waiting area.

Services

The work that fits this event

  • On a lawn judged by class, defects in the clear coat (swirls, etching, holograms) are what get corrected; honest patina on an original car is inspected first and often left alone.
  • Paint Enhancement and 1-Step can be done by request at a suitable approved mobile address. 2-Step, Show Correction and ceramic coating normally happen at the studio, so plan transport for those.
  • A professional ceramic coating is applied at the studio and needs lead time for application and cure, so it goes earlier on the calendar than the final detail.

Paint Correction

Paint Enhancement improves gloss with very light correction. 1-Step, 2-Step and Show Correction treat heavier defects at each step up. AB assesses the finish in person before quoting. Enhancement and 1-Step are available mobile or at the studio. 2-Step and Show Correction need controlled conditions.

A Complete Detail covers the vehicle inside and out: washing, chemical and mechanical decontamination, engine bay, steam and extraction, and exterior protection. AB does the work personally, at your home as mobile detailing or at our North Phoenix studio.
