Pre-Trade-In Detail

A Pre-Trade-In Detail is a specific service category: the Complete Detail baseline, plus aggressive carpet extraction, engine-bay degrease, headlight restoration when needed, and a light single-stage paint enhancement — prepared to present inspection-grade at a dealer appraisal or private-buyer walk-around.

Clean side profile and wheel after detailing.
Scope

What the work covers.

What's included

  • 01Everything in the Complete Detail — exterior decontamination, two-bucket wash, interior extraction, engine bay, wheels, glass, and final LED inspection
  • 02Aggressive carpet and upholstery extraction beyond a standard steam pass — for vehicles where daily use has embedded soil the baseline extraction will not lift
  • 03Engine bay degrease and dress, presented to appraisal standard
  • 04Headlight restoration when the lenses show oxidation — included when needed, not sold as an add-on in this package
  • 05Light single-stage paint enhancement to remove surface marring and bring gloss back up before presentation
  • 06Odor neutralization when relevant — treating the source, not masking it

What to expect

  1. 01Request a quote first — an in-person inspection is usually not required for this service
  2. 02Drop off at the shop; your vehicle is the only job on the bench that day
  3. 03Vehicle returned inspection-grade, presented the way a well-maintained trade-in is supposed to look at the appraiser's desk

A good fit when

  • You are preparing for dealer appraisal, private sale photos, or buyer walk-around inspection.
  • The vehicle needs interior recovery, engine-bay presentation, headlight restoration when needed, and a light gloss enhancement.
  • You want the vehicle to read as maintained without investing in collector-level correction.

Not the right lane when

  • You are keeping the vehicle and want long-term protection; Complete Detail plus coating guidance may fit better.
  • The paint needs heavy two-stage or three-stage correction to meet your goal.
  • You need a guaranteed appraisal increase. Presentation can help, but the final number is controlled by the buyer or dealer.

Most Pre-Trade-In quotes can start from the form and photos. We will call out any scope that needs inspection before scheduling.

Why presentation, not promises

We can't control the appraisal. We can control the presentation.

Dirty carpets, dull paint, oxidized headlights, and engine-bay grime tell a condition story before anyone opens the door. A Pre-Trade-In Detail resets that story — aggressive carpet extraction, engine-bay presentation, headlight restoration when needed, and a light gloss enhancement, done to appraisal standard.

We'll say plainly when the spend doesn't match the vehicle or the sale path. This isn't a guaranteed value increase — it's an honest presentation reset.

What this is not

This isn't a paint-correction package, and it isn't a guaranteed appraisal increase. It's interior recovery, engine-bay presentation, and a light gloss pass — done to a standard that reads as maintained, not judged under lights.

Start with the quote request.

Send the vehicle details and timeline — most Pre-Trade-In quotes are confirmed from the form alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

We do not promise a specific dollar figure — the appraisal is out of our control, and the number depends on vehicle, condition, and the buyer across the desk. What we can control is the presentation going into it. A vehicle that visually presents as well-maintained tells a different condition story than one that doesn't.

A light single-stage enhancement is included. That is sufficient for most trade-in presentations. If the paint has heavier defects that would benefit from a two-stage Correction or a three-stage Show Correction, we will say so — those are separate services and are only worth the investment on specific vehicles at specific price points.

Yes, when the lenses show oxidation. We do not charge it separately in this package. If the headlights are already clear, the service still delivers in full — we do not substitute other work for it.

It is worth considering when presentation is clearly holding the vehicle back: dirty carpets, dull paint, oxidized headlights, engine-bay grime, or photos that make the vehicle look poorly maintained. It is not a guaranteed appraisal increase, and we will say when the spend does not match the vehicle or sale path.

Some odor issues can be improved, especially when the source is in carpet, upholstery, or removable contamination. We do not promise permanent odor removal from smoke, mildew intrusion, or deep biological contamination without inspection. Odor remediation may be added when the source and value case make sense.
